The Charlton vets local derby Vs Welling vets was abandoned early in the second half on Thursday after a double compound leg fracture to the popular Welling player Derek Brown, following an unfortunate tackle by a Charlton player. Latest news was that Derek was under going surgery at the local hospital. We will keep you up to date as news comes in.
On a cold wintery night a good crowd came to see an array of stars from Charlton and Welling, The game stood at a close 2-1 to welling when the incident occurred. It was decided that in the spirit of the game it should be abandoned. We at Charlton would like to thank Welling for their warm hospitality and wish Derek a quick recovery.
