Nothing separated Charlton and Preston North End in a scoreless stalemate at The Valley on Saturday.
The Addicks remain 14 points adrift at the foot of the table after failing to make the breakthrough against a Preston side that lost ground in the play-off push at the other end of the table.
Andy Lonergan was the busier of the two keepers, making a succession of routine stops before making a fine fingertip stop from Tresor Kandol's header eight minutes from time.
The Addicks also lost Darren Ambrose and skipper Mark Hudson to injury during the game, the latter after a nasty collision with visiting substitute Chris Brown.
