There I was tonight doing a bit of work on the website and my phone rang, who was It, My second Charlton manager a great friend and a great Charlton Favourite, Eddie Firmani. He lives in the usa and its been awhile since we spoke. He is well and wanted to know the news on our promotion push and why the team was dropping points at this stage of the season.
We spoke at length and I was a bit suprised how much he knew. He said that he always follows the team and was hoping that we would have had an easier time in getting back up again. I did say say that we ALL hoped of an easier ride but we both agreed that we should make that automatic spot

He is not quite sure when he will come back to the uk but hopes its soon. I have fond memories of Eddie as he was the one who gave me my first team debut and when I was transfered to Italy he acted as my agent and our friendship grew.

The agent thing was quite funny because the day I had to speak terms with my new club (and trembling at the knees)  Eddie just turned up at the club and said " how could I leave a young lad like you on your own with these sharks"  and he should know after playing in Italy for the Samporia, Genoa and the great Inter Milan. He was a god out there and helped me to get a good deal. We have always kept in touch and I think the best time was when he was here about 5 years ago and he came to my house for dinner, I invited some friends round and my grown up kids and friends hung on his every word. The stories of playing against my Idol pele and other greats, the great goals he scored ( he scored  a few) The stadiums, the great time he had when managing New York Cosmos, winning the title twice with players who had won world cups. It was really a fantastic night and I always thought what a great speaker he would make.
We promised to speak more often and he will be back as soon as he can, no doubt we will see him at the valley.

Been getting loads of phone calls and text messages from former players asking me where ive been over the last six months. There was even a rumour that I had won the Euro jack pot and cleared off!!
Well no such luck. As most people know we own a restaurant in Paris and we decided to change from a French, which I was never sure about to an Italian which I am sure about and its needed me to be there to get things going, I am now happy and feel that we have made the right decision. I have been going over every week, now i`m down to three days a week and soon I hope to be there even less.

So no jack pot win just working very hard
